The staff of Child Rights International, Ghana (CRI) are participating in the celebration of Ghana Month with exciting activities at its head office in Dzorwulu, Accra, that depict the country’s rich, unique and diverse cultures.
On Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays the staff dress in costumes that reflect the cultures of Ghana’s ethnic groups.
On Thursdays, a food bazaar pops up where the staff are treated to a tall menu of Waakye, Gari, Gob3, Banku; local drinks such as Sobolo, Asana, and L’armugine as well as delicacies including Nkate cake, Kubetofee, Adaakwoa and Agbele kaaklo.
The “chop chop” takes place amidst Ghanaian music and cultural dance and the playing of Oware, Ludu and Ampe games.
These activities make the Ghana Month fun and enjoyable, apart from educating the staff on the rich history of Ghana through art, drama, food, fashion, music and dance.
Mr. Bright Appiah, the Executive Director at Child Rights International, explained that the celebration of Ghana Month, aims to bring the staff together, have fun and learn about Ghana.
The last Thursday of the month, termed ‘the Last Supper’, will climax the celebration with a performance by the Ghanaian music group, Wulomei.
The month of March is Ghana month. So, join Child Rights International in celebrating the rich cultural heritage of our great motherland, Ghana.
